Manage student workers in the supply room, dean’s office, business office and external relations team. Serve as FWS liaision. Hire, train and schedule over 50+ student workers. Provide training for students and supervisors on how to navigate the OneUSG Connect system as employees.
Build grants budgets with grants coordinator and principal investigators. Make position funding changes as a result of new sponsored projected funding. Confirm final project costs and perform grants closeout with the grants coordinator.
Assist BM III during peak times (to meet critical start dates, such as the start of the academic term) to onboard new employees and complete hiring proposals. Utilize UGA Jobs to create new positions, manage over 200+ existing positions, determine job descriptions/classifications, evaluate and post positions and serve as Executive Authority for classified positions.
Serve as Manager in OneUSG Connect to perform bi-weekly pay run, confirm payroll expenses/budget balances, conduct ad hoc salary changes based on new funding arrival, terminations, position funding changes, update reports to, review leave requests and various other tasks.
Advise search committees for position announcement advertisements in various publications specific to each field/industry for all faculty searches.Percentage of time50 Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities
Recruit, train and supervise/evaluate the Business Manager I and Accountant position. Provide direction and oversee workflow, load and daily operations for the Business Office. This includes oversight of the monthly reconciliation review of all funding sources totaling $23M, internal ledgers and authorizing expenditures.
Work with the Admin Financial Director to complete annual Budget Planning and Salary Setting process. Assist with building the eight unit budgets within the Grady College.
Creation of departmental financial/budget reports and distribute monthly to directors, department heads and the AFD for over 97 departments. Perform analysis of non-personal services budgets and make adjustments based on funding initiatives and special projects.
Identify gaps in knowledge for staff, assess training needs for the financial staff and develop materials. Schedule and conduct monthly reporting workshop for financial team (14 staff). Train new employees on the financial team how to use the various reporting tools available. Coordinate with the IT Web Mangager to post and archive materials on the Business Office web page.
Create new chart strings (new department ID, combo codes, speed types and other new field requests). Update approval paths and workflow in PS. Serve as backup to the Accountant and Business Manager I.Percentage of time40 Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities

Complete and manage inventory verification annually for Asset Management
Serve as backup for Touchnet, Andover and various other systems
Perform USG/UGA security/data access review, set up UGA training modules
Compile and complete accreditation budget materials and institutional reviews/surveys
Update Business Office web pages with current policies and procedures
