The Area Coordinator is responsible for fostering a strong residential community. The position requires frequent after hours and weekend availability. Bachelors degree required. Master's degree in higher education, college student development, counseling, or related field with at least (2) years of work experience is preferred. High ethical and professional standards. Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a high paced environment with competing demands for time. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: -Recruit, select, supervise and evaluate approximately 12 resident assistants and 1-2 graduate hall directors.
-Oversee all check-in, check-out, and building closing procedures.
-Monitor and verify occupancy records and ensure compliance with room change procedures.
-Promote student success and development by providing para-professional counseling, mediation, and active referrals to student support services.
-Enforce housing and student conduct policies.
-Provide regular educational and social opportunities for students that are designed to foster academic and personal development.
-Respond to and resolve after hours emergencies.
-Act as a liaison with campus partners and stakeholders including University Police, Counseling and Disability Services, and Facilities Management.
-Actively support departmental wide programming and operational activities.
