Afull-time postdoctoral fellow position in Medicinal Chemistry/Organic Chemistryis available in the laboratory of Dr. Philip Reigan. We are seeking a highlymotivated and talented individual with a strong background in synthetic organicchemistry to join our medicinal chemistry program as a Post-doc MedicinalChemist. The research involves the chemical synthesis of small molecules candidatetherapeutics in a highly collaborative environment withstate-of-the-art facilities. The researcher will design, synthesize, andperform initial evaluation of novel small molecules with an aim to optimize theselectivity, potency, pharmacokinetics, and in vivo efficacy of potential drugcandidates.


Salary will be commensurate with qualificationsand will follow the NIH compensation scale for postdoctoral fellows. Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: The applicant must have(or expect to obtain shortly) a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistryor a closely related field.  


Preferred Qualifications: Experience in computational-based drug design softwareplatforms, microwave technology, flash purification systems, and biochemical assay techniques.

 

Highly desirable additional qualificationsinclude, a track record of productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problemsolving and analytical skills; excellent scientific expertise in organicsynthesis including multi-step synthesis, compound purification, and structuralcharacterization; the ability to design and adapt synthetic routes to obtaintarget compounds and support structure-activity studies; the ability tochampion chemistry efforts from initiation to achieve project milestones; excellentwritten and verbal communication skills; the ability to maintain excellentdocumentation of their work; and a highly motivated self-starter who is able towork effectively independently and as part of a team is highly desired.
