The UGC Student Ambassador will assist the UGC Enrollment team with various office responsibilities, including but not limited to facilitating student panels, campus tours, making phone calls, and assisting with other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Complete the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.

Have a complete financial aid file (submit all required documents for processing financial aid).

Must be enrolled at NLU at least half-time for classes needed toward your degree.

Maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Responsibilities

The candidate for the UGC Student Ambassador position will have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; problem solving skills; organizational skills; be fluent in English (Spanish proficiency preferred); have connections in the Chicago community; be flexible; have a pleasant demeanor and outgoing personality with a positive attitude; pay great attention to detail; strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); excellent customer service skills; clerical skills. The candidate must be very comfortable speaking in front of large groups.

The Student Ambassador will provide administrative support for the UGC Enrollment team at the Chicago Campus; the duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Aide the facilitation of Information Sessions, Open Houses, and one-on-one appointments with UGC Enrollment Specialists.

Assist with Outreach & Enrollment events in the community (college fairs, etc.).

Lead campus tours and facilitate student panels.

Answer questions regarding the undergraduate college.

Create a friendly and welcoming environment for visitors with exceptional customer service and care.

Answer multi-line phones and make phone calls as needed (35 calls per hour).

Assemble information packets and folders for prospective students.

Enter lead card and application details into data entry system.

Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity Manage inventory of UGC Enrollment supplies.

Become familiar with the University’s services offered to students.

Provide general administrative and clerical support.

Provide UGC Enrollment team with other responsibilities as requested.
