The National College of Education at National Louis University is pleased to announce its search for a full-time non-tenure track faculty member in the School of Advanced Professional Programs and solicits nominations and expressions of interest. This is a one-year, continuing renewable position that begins as early as Summer 2019. We seek a colleague to support NLU’s continued growth in ESL/Bilingual Education teacher preparation and in-service career advancement. NLU is one of the largest, most well-established, and esteemed providers of graduate courses leading to ESL and Bilingual endorsements in the state of Illinois. ESL/Bilingual coursework can be applied to M.A.T. and M.Ed. degrees.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, ESL, or bilingual education or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have expertise in curriculum innovation and online instructional leadership. In addition, the candidate will demonstrate:

•Expertise with blended and online course design and teaching
•Experience working in a preK-12 ESL/BE setting
•Experience teaching practicing teachers and/or pre-service teacher candidates
•Strong research and data analysis skills
•Proficiency in a language other than English
•Experience teaching ESL, EFL, DL, and/or BE
•Ability to collaborate with faculty for common goals and initiatives, and
•Ability to teach courses and attend functions in the Chicagoland area.
