DescriptionTheDepartment of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS)invites applications for two tenure-track positions effective August 2020.

 TheDepartment offers PhD and Master’s degrees, and has active research programs inRing Theory, Probability, and Applied Mathematics. Detailed information isavailable at https://www.uccs.edu/math/.

 Specialpreference will be given to applicants whose research interests lie in AppliedMathematics and Computation but applications from all areas compatible with theDepartment’s existing research programs will be considered. To be eligible, acandidate must have a PhD in Mathematics or a related field at the time ofappointment. Both positions require teaching at the undergraduate and graduatelevels, research, mentoring of graduate students, and service.

 Oneof the two positions is at the Assistant Professor level. The successfulcandidate must possess a strong research record and potential to secureexternal research funding. Preference will be given to candidates withpost-doctoral research experience and ability to teach graduate-levelcomputational mathematics courses.

 Theother position may be offered at the Associate Professor level based on thecandidate’s record and experience. To be considered at the Associate Professorlevel, the candidate must have several years of experience at the tenure-track(or tenured) level at a PhD-granting institution and an established researchprogram. The hiring will be contingent upon successfully going through thetenure process at UCCS at the earliest opportunity available after the offer isaccepted. Preference will be given to candidates with prior success inmentoring PhD students and attracting external research funds.
