Asst Director Audio Visual

DescriptionThis candidate will be responsible for the leadership in the construction and day-to-day service of audio visual spaces (smart classroom/conference rooms/event meeting spaces).  This individual, working with a team of people at Temple will be responsible for developing the standards for A/V spaces.  Providing technical expertise, coordinate the design, planning and execution of the projects.   The right candidate will be able to work with many areas from Temple’s internal teams (customer, architecture, facilities management) to outside vendors and contractors.  This will entail being both a customer advocate and a relationship manager.  
This individual will have project budget management responsibilities and will coordinate the vendor/contractor selection process.  The incumbent will also be involved in estimating and record maintenance for design and billing purposes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in related field and a minimum of four (4) years’ related experience in the installation and maintenance of audio visual systems. At least three (3) years of experience working on construction sites with basic understanding of construction practices and codes. Experience with low voltage and network wiring. Demonstrated experience managing project budgets and estimating projects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:* Expertise with construction projects.* Strong working knowledge and experience with audio/visual technology (Extron, Kramer, Apple, Crestron, AMX).* Demonstrated project management skills.* Ability to read audio visual blueprints as well as those of other trades.* Experience managing vendors and contractors.* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.* Must have a valid driver’s license.* Ability to work early mornings, nights and/or weekends, as necessary.
Preferred:* Ability to create, edit and markup drawings using AutoCAD.
