DescriptionThe LPNImmunizations in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Student and EmployeeHealth Services department will primarily review the immunization status forall students. This includes maintaining immunization tracking for healthscience students on the HSC Campus, Main Campus and Podiatry School. Additionally, the LPN Immunizations provides direct patient care administeringvaccinations, specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscularinjection, and notes time and amount on patients' charts. Work isrendered primarily at Main Campus Student Health Services. However, will bealso be required to assist with planning and implementation of health screeningclinics on the Health Sciences Campus.Specificresponsibilities include: facilitating the immunization compliance of allstudents who attend Temple University including data input and studenteducation; coordinating outreach programs in cooperation with variousschools/departments where appropriate, for specific projects e.g. immunizationprograms; assisting with the planning and implementation of yearly PPD and FluClinics; rotating to other clinical areas within Student Health Services ie:Dispensary, Lab and Health Science Campus; documenting in electronic medicalrecord system utilized in all clinical areas; receiving patients in acourteous, efficient manner and supporting physicians, nurse practitioners andnurses in the delivery of health care by performing a variety of medicallyrelated tasks in a primary care outpatient student health service practiceincluding general medicine and gynecology visits; administering specifiedmedications within scope of practice as per provider medical orders and properdocumentation in electronic medical record; participating in staffmeetings, quality improvement projects and committees as appropriate. Inaddition, the LPN Immunizations will be consulting when appropriate with otherclinical staff; providing health education to student patients; dispensingprescription and over-the-counter medications as ordered by physician or nursepractitioner; participating in the maintenance of appropriate formulary/supplyinventory levels by making recommendations for ordering medical and surgicalsupplies to the Nurse Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. RequiredEducation and Experience: Practical Nurse Licensure in the Commonwealth ofPennsylvania. Required Skills andAbilities:

Preferred: *2-3 year’srelated experience in a physician’s office preferably university studenthealth, family practice or emergency medicine preferred. *Experiencewith medical record data entry.
