The incumbent provides a broad range of administrative support services to assure the effective coordination, integration, and efficient operation of the department. The incumbent assists with overall supervision for effectively managing department programs and activities. Furthermore, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the overall supervision of department staff. In addition, the incumbent assists with the formulation, development, implementation, and dissemination of policies. The incumbent acts as a liaison between the department and the external community such as the university community, outside vendors, etc.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with external community. Will also coordinate overall administrative and clerical duties. Will provide follow-up on recommendations and actions. Will prepare agenda items, prioritizes meeting, and research issues. Provides supervisory functionality to assigned department staff. Supervises screening of all incoming communication. Handles or delegates all issues not requiring immediate executive attention. Assists with budget preparation. Assists with report writing. Exercises objective judgment within scope in resolving staff problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:At least 3 years of directly related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Required Skills and Abilities:*Ability to speak clearly.
