Description

The Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice launched in September 2018 in the College of Education at Temple University. It is an action research center focused on rethinking and restructuring higher education and social policies, practices, and resources to create opportunities for all students to complete college degrees.
This position contributes to many stages of the Hope Center’s research work, including gathering, analyzing and interpreting data, and reporting on findings. The incumbent is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating phases of research activity, participating in the development of research project goals and proposing procedures to be followed. The Research Associate will be responsible for managing and analyzing on multiple projects, literary research, and making ongoing revisions to project experiment plans and procedures as needed to pursue project objectives. The Research Associate will assist with development of research proposals and funding related activities as appropriate. The incumbent will conduct reviews, write reports of research findings, and present research results. The Research Associate may work on primary research studies, perform secondary research, or provide technical assistance on evaluation design and program implementation.
The incumbent will report to the Director of Research and work closely with research staff such as Senior Research Associate(s), Project Manager(s), and Research Assistant(s) on multiple research projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Computer Science field and at least 3 years of relevant experience; 1 year of experience with STATA, SAS, or R software is required.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  
Required Skills & Abilities:*Strong project management, analytical, problem solving, strategic, and organizational skills*Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks*Ability to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task*Ability to work with individuals across a wide range of expertise (e.g., faculty, researchers, Executive Assistants, undergraduate students)*Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially on virtual interfaces*Strong attention to detail*Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently*Commitment to The Hope Center’s mission*Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint mandatory).
Preferred:*Experience utilizing online project management software.  *Some experience in education-related research field.*Experience with Qualtrics*Experience with Slack or other electronic communications system
