Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Governance and Compliance, this position is responsible for the day to day creating, maintaining, and monitoring of a compliant environment that results in clear institutional control of all athletic programs relative to Conference and NCAA legislation as required by NCAA Division I membership. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing interpretations to coaches and staff regarding NCAA legislation and creating rules education documents. This position will have a primary focus on initial eligibility and monitoring in addition to other compliance responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Research, write, and issue NCAA rules interpretations
  • Serve as the liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
  • Oversee reviews of initial eligibility and maintain the prospective student-athlete admissions database, running reports as needed.
  • Manage ARMS software, squad list management
  • Assist with educational efforts for student-athletes, coaches, staff and boosters as needed; present at rules education meetings.
  • Schedule and administer yearly NCAA coach’s certification recruiting exams•Coordinate institutional monitoring program for assigned NCAA bylaw areas. (11, 13 & 17)
  • Maintain files and admission status of all prospects supported by athletics and communicates information to the sport programs.
  • Monitor recruitment activities, countable athletically-related activities, promotional activities, donation requests, and coordination of all official and unofficial visits.
  • Work directly with staff, coaches, and student-athletes regarding NCAA compliance in a timely manner.
  • Provide game day support at various sporting events, and execute other duties assigned to assist the Office of Athletic Compliance with day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Assist other members of the Office of Athletic Compliance in developing and implementing new processes and procedures as deemed necessary to enhance the overall function of the office.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 2-4 years of compliance experience within a Division I athletics program.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and athletic compliance procedures
  • Proficient in ARMS software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to interpret complex oral and written concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Master's degree preferred

M-F 8:30-5:00
