Position Summary

The Director of International Programs is responsible for leading, supervising, and managing all aspects of the International Programs (IP) in the college. This position will ensure and provide efficient and effective management of the day-to-day operations and personnel management. The Director ensures that the International Program entity provides the proper resources, knowledge and training on international matters as they relate to the College and community. The Director will be culpable for the following duties:
  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics pursuant to the International Program's enhanced mission to develop a comprehensive suite of services and programs designed to build international partnerships.
  • Provide faculty with international faculty exchange and study abroad opportunities.
  • Assure that the CSN international student population receive the support required to overcome the unique barriers and challenges that can arise for them.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The Director is expected to build successful relationships with key College departments such as; the various schools within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) and other domestic and international institutions to increase international student enrollment, increase study abroad and faculty exchange programs, and develop international contract opportunities. The Director will establish a “Student's First" culture that promotes the academic success of international students and strengthen the internationalization of CSN. The Director will also serve as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for institutional SEVIS compliance.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in International Education, Higher Education or a related field from an accredited college or university, 5 years of experience at a Director level or above, 4 years of supervisory experience, 2 years of demonstrated experience in PDSO and advanced knowledge of US Immigration Regulations, including SEVIS compliance requirements and specifically F-1 and M-1 visa categories, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Leadership, management, team building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of academic, transfer, and registration policies.
  • Experience with training direct reports and others in a designated area.
  • Demonstrated record of attaining international education and training grants and contracts.
  • Advanced international student recruitment experience working with agents and creating partnerships.
