A cook for this location will prepare food according to established recipes and procedures ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality. Snack Bar Leads direct and participate in the production of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering events, concessions and other events for Dining Services. They often work unsupervised and regularly train, assign, instruct and check the work of others. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and food service equipment. They will also be expected to provide excellent customer service and handle cash transactions.

Conditions of EmploymentThis position requires a valid food handler’s permit and a driver’s license.
This position requires the ability to work evenings, late nights, and weekends.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment
This position is covered by the Washington Federation of State Employees’ Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Physical DemandsThe successful candidate must be able to stand for the duration of their shift and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

5 days per week – 40 hours per week – with two consecutive days off. Hours may vary during the work week to meet operational needs. Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and late nights.
