The Coordinator, reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, provides strategic direction and vision for the Black Cultural Center, oversees the administration of the physical Center, and manages its services and collaborations. Responsibilities include maintaining oversight of the annual budget and leading the Center in strategic planning efforts, including the development and articulation of annual departmental goals, assessment, and evaluation. This position is also responsible to recruit, select, train, and supervise the Student Assistants, who will play an active role in the operation of the Center and the delivery of its services. 

The Coordinator communicates, interprets, and implements University policies and procedures, fosters the success of the Student Life strategic plan, and serves as an active member of the Division of Student Life. This work involves collaboration with a wide-ranging set of colleagues, campus, and community partners on matters related to Black student engagement, academic and social success, and retention. 

The Coordinator serves as a resource for Black-identified students by providing support and connecting them to existing programs and services. The Coordinator is also responsible to design, implement, and support community outreach programs and collaborative partnerships, including making the Center available for campus and community events. This will require the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
