Job SummaryThe Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking distinguished research faculty, 12 month position. The successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, productive research agenda that aims to make an impact.
Our department seeks an individual who will conduct innovative, rigorous, grant funded research and engage in scholarly activities (peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.).
The University of Kentucky is one of only eight institutions in the nation with established schools in Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy on a single, contiguous campus. Research faculty members will therefore be given the opportunity to engage in broader research and training initiatives across all colleges of the University of Kentucky, including Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Communication and Information Sciences, Health Sciences, etc. These initiatives include grant consultation and review; a dynamic speaker series and other enriching events; pilot project competitions; and outreach to the lay public.

Research
In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts. UK is one of only eight universities across the country with the full range of undergraduate, graduate, professional and medical programs on one contiguous campus, leading to groundbreaking discoveries and unique cross-disciplinary research and scholarship. Moreover, UK is currently one of only 22 public institutions with a trifecta of federal designations of excellence in research: for aging, in cancer and in translational science.
