Job SummaryThe Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Family Medicine will function as a member of the Department of Family Practice and Community Medicine, and will be expected to enhance patient care and the education of healthcare professionals. The individual will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Specific responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, promoting and facilitating value-based practice operations, including, but not limited to, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) operations, as well as assisting in teaching of medical students, residents and students in other healthcare fields in the Family Medical Center, other ambulatory care settings, and on the department’s hospital service
In addition, the selected candidate will serve on applicable departmental, University Hospitals and College of Medicine committees as assigned, and participate in the on-call schedule and attending on the hospital inpatient service. The faculty member will also be expected to participate in scholarly work related to his/her clinical and/or teaching activities, and participate in continuing education programs for the College of Medicine.

Research
In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
