The Department of Planning andDesign in theCollege of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver willestablish and maintain a pool of Lecturers from which future appointments totemporary, non-tenure-track positions will be made. Appointments will bepart-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester with thepossibility of renewal. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remaincontinuously active through December 31, 2019—at that point, all applicationswill be cleared from the pool. You are welcome to reapply to the pool afterthat date. 

Lecturers selected from this pool will teach inthe College’s graduate program on the University of Colorado Denver campus.Classes taught may range from three credit hours to six credit hours. These mayinclude lectures, seminars and studios.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• A Masters degree in Planning or a related fieldis required. Professional work experience may substitute for the degree on ayear for year basis.
• Applicants should have substantive knowledge ofthe planning and design fields and/or expertise and experience working ininterdisciplinary collaborations and community engagement and/or understandingof planning and design applications and/or experience in project design,development, and management and/or broad knowledge of planning and designsoftware.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference may be given to applicants with priorteaching experience, a record of professional practice in planning, and aprofessional degree in a planning-related field.
• Individuals with multi-disciplinary education andexpertise are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

Compensation for Lecturers is a set dollaramount, determined at the beginning of each academic year, based on the numberof credit hours per course.         

This part-time appointment is not eligible for grouphealth, life insurance, or retirement benefits.
