24-Jul-2019 Close All Job SummaryIn this role, you will develop, enhance, and maintain web applications for various campus departments by conducting system requirements studies, analyzing needs at the user and department level, and designing, developing and deploying the applications.
You will also participate on an Agile development team, facilitating problem identification and solutions, and supporting the application post-production.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeProgramming, Development, and Support
  • Write, test, and deploy web applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies including Java, Javascript and SQL.
  • Help maintain applications written in Java, Javascript,and SQL
  • Independently and collaboratively perform coding, unit testing, and documentation; improve architecture and optimize performance; and participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic business issues.

Technical Analysis
  • Tactical solution design and implementation; analyze manual and automated administrative systems and processes; study and translate system requirements by developing technical solutions, analyzing paper and data flows and processes, and incorporating business policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Analyze disparate information systems and develop technical plan for integrating the systems as required.
  • Work with customers to learn business requirements and turn those into technical requirements.
Professional Development
  • Maintain proficiency, certifications, and acquire knowledge on development processes and best practices regarding delivering development services to a university campus by reading trade journals, attending conferences, seminars and classes, learning new technologies and participating in discussions with colleagues and peer institutions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. A combination of education and or relevant experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
  • 2+ years software development in Java, Javascript, or other Object-oriented programming languages.
  • Familiarity with SQL database (Oracle, MySQL, or others).
  • Experience with MVC and Object Oriented Design and Programming.
  • Familiarity with source code control, such as GIT.
