The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education.

Position Summary

The Department of Economics invites applicants for a one semester, part-time instructor to begin August 2019. The successful candidate should be willing to work closely with students at a Liberal Arts college and be able to teach the following courses: Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics and Introduction to Economics. Other responsibilities may include attending department meetings and holding regular office hours. Candidates with demonstrated commitment to working with underrepresented minorities through teaching, mentoring, and research are strongly encouraged to apply.


A Master’s Degree in Economics or 18 graduate credit hours is required.

Experience in teaching at a Liberal Arts college is preferred.
