Position InformationJob Title Program Administrator - Adult Basic Education (ABE) Grant-Funded Position through 6/30/2020 Working Title Program Administrator - Adult Basic Education (ABE) Requisition Number 063411 Department Continuing & Professional Studies Operations Location Long Branch Job Description Under the support and direction of the Director, the Program Administrator coordinates, manages and implements all aspects of the Adult Basic Education Program according to all Federal and State regulations and guidelines. The position provides direct support and supervision to GED and ESL Instructors and Program staff to ensure program compliance regarding assessment, data collection, entry and analysis. Description of Duties/Selection Criteria Implement all aspects of the Adult Basic Skills Program in a timely manner and to ensure compliance with policies and procedures both internal to Brookdale and with our external funding source. Coordinate with the ABE team the pre and post assessments and enrollment of students into the ESL and GED Classes. Manage the day-to-day operation including, but not limited to, working with the GED and ESL Instructors on any classroom or students related issues. Review budget for compliance and the hiring of instructors.

Develop, deliver and/or facilitate selected training and professional development designed to support program objectives and ensures high level of performance on annual report card.

Ensure program reporting requirements are met and participate in all aspects of program evaluation and monitoring, including student evaluations and observe classroom lessons to ensure all classroom protocol and curriculum are held to the highest standard.

Direct and work with the Monmouth County Consortium Partners to ensure they are in compliance and all our services are integrated. Assume professional responsibilities regarding meeting with instructors and coordinators on administrative details and curriculum related matters.

Inform the Adult Basic Education Director and Higher Education Center Directors of any student incidents or behaviors that could result in liabilities against the College and/or Center or could be construed as inimical to the status of the College and/or Center.
Work to ensure the students and instructors have a safe and proper learning environment. Report all incidents on the proper forms.
Assume professional responsibilities in regard to meeting with instructors on administrative details, curriculum and other related matters.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. NJ, NY, PA certified teacher preferred. Three years of experience in program coordination/management.
Experience in overseeing grant funded program.
Working experience with multi-cultural groups, and Literacy Programs preferred.

Knowledge and ability to work well with a diverse student population.
Ability to work collaboratively and to address problems through team work.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proven computer literacy with utilizing and applying Microsoft Office applications as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
Ability to learn detailed knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations as well as the College procedures, policies and regulations.
Ability to travel locally. Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations (i.e. overtime, expertise in, physical requirements, flexible in schedule, travel, preferred qualifications, etc) Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. Brookdale Community College, located in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township, New Jersey, is an excellent resource for residents of Monmouth County. The College offers (2-year) associate degrees in over 50 programs, plus noncredit classes in many areas of personal and professional interest.

Brookdale is an open admission, comprehensive community college, available to anyone 18 years of age or older, anyone who is a high school graduate or holder of an equivalency diploma. If you do not have a high school diploma or an equivalency diploma, you may still enroll at Brookdale as long as you are 18 or older.

The College was founded in 1967 and is sponsored by the citizens of Monmouth County through the Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The 220-acre main campus today comprises 22 buildings totaling 731,353 square feet, with new construction in the last decade including Larrison Hall, the Center for the Visual Arts, the Bankier Library, and our beautiful newly renovated Fitness Center and Conference & Events Center.

The campus also includes a 360-seat Performing Arts Center, an Advanced Technology Center with state-of-the art television and music studios, 10 athletic fields, Brookdale Public Radio 90.5 The Night, and some 60 computer labs with about 2,000 fully networked PCs running all today’s mainstream applications at all Brookdale locations.
