Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education hires part-time faculty to teach undergraduate mathematics methods courses. These positions are on an as-needed, per semester basis to teach traditional and non-traditional students at an on- or off-campus site.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Qualified applications must have earned at least a Master’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in elementary education, mathematics education, or a related field with at least 18 hours of mathematics relevant graduate semester hours (Mathematics/Mathematics Education).
As well, the qualified applicant must have at least three years experience as a P-12 classroom teacher. Ideal candidates will have experience as a K-5 classroom teacher, and will have university teaching experience.

As one of the larger departments at KSU, the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education has more than 80 full-time and part-time faculty members. The department serves over 1,500 Elementary and Early Childhood Education undergraduate majors and over 100 graduate majors. It offers programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels. Its M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education is now offered both as a totally online program as well as a face-to-face option. Certification for pre-kindergarten to grade five is embedded in the undergraduate program.
