Basic Function

This is a hybrid position that reports to the Division Coordinator of Learning and Technology Resources. This position will support the computer labs and work with the campus IT staff performing installation of computers, software, and peripherals as needed. This position will provide individual and/or group tutoring in IT related subjects.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will support the computer labs and work with the campus IT staff performing installation of computers, software, and peripherals as needed. This position will provide individual and/or group tutoring to students in IT related subjects to include ITN, ITE, Exccel and CSC.

Minimum Qualifications

- Associate’s degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the IT field from which knowledge, skills, and abilities required to complete the duties of the position have been achieved.
-previous tutoring or teaching experience
-Successful completion of course(s) that are to be tutored with a B or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience supporting computer labs.
-Experience resolving IT related problems with computers and associated peripherals working in an IT department.
-Experience providing one-on-one or group tutoring in a higher education environment.
-Experience supporting instructional technology that may be found in a classroom

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Education, training and/or demonstrated experience in the IT field.
-Comfortable working with the Microsoft Suite of applications.
-Ability to assist students in improving academic achievements by meeting with students as needed to clarify learning challenges and help students with study skills.
