The Communication, Media & Journalism department seeks part-time faculty members to teach various classes on our Gainesville, Dahlonega, and Oconee campuses. Specifically, we need instructors to teach Public Speaking, Introduction to Media Studies, News Writing and Reporting, Film Appreciation, Studio Production I, and/or Production II. Instructors will be hired to teach either one or a combination of two of these courses, depending on applicants’ expertise and availability on each campus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teaching one to two sections of Public Speaking, Introduction to Media Studies, News Writing and Reporting, Film Appreciation, Studio Production I, and/or Production II
  • Communicating with departmental colleagues regarding choice of text, common assignments, and standardized rubrics and grading
  • Reporting grades in a timely manner
  • Following all guidelines in the Faculty Handbook for part-time faculty.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s degree and at least 18 hours of graduate-level coursework in communication studies, mass communication, journalism, film, digital media, or a related discipline is required.
