Lafayette College in Easton, PA, announces a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Religious Studies at the rank of assistant professor, beginning July 1, 2020, with specialization in religious traditions of East Asia. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, and 3/2 thereafter.

Qualifications

Aside from a specialization in religious traditions of East Asia, applicants should have demonstrable competence to teach an introductory course in world religions, other Religious Studies courses, and other courses in their area(s) of expertise that will contribute to the curriculum of the interdisciplinary program in Asian Studies (and possibly also to other interdisciplinary programs, depending on the applicant’s strengths). Indications of a promising scholarly trajectory in the applicant’s areas of expertise are also expected. We invite applications from candidates with a doctorate (in hand or expected by August 2020) from a range of departments and disciplines, not necessarily Religious Studies.
