Butler County Community College (BC3) is currently accepting applications for the position of Preschool Teacher/Group Supervisor of Amy Wise Children’s Creative Learning Center. This is a regular full-time position that will begin in August 2019.


BC3 is nestled in the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania and only 45 minutes from the cultural life of Pittsburgh. BC3 is a vibrant comprehensive community college serving eight (8) counties with six (6) locations and nearly 4,000 credit students. Built on the former Oak Hills Golf Course and a farm, BC3 has a beautiful main campus on 329 wooded acres with a central Oak Grove. BC3 employs approximately 1,250 full- and part-time employees. Reporting to the Director of the Amy Wise Children’s Creative Learning Center, the Preschool Teacher/Group Supervisor is responsible for supervising, instructing, and caring for the children of the College’s students, faculty, staff, and the community in a preschool learning environment, assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Center’s curriculum yearly, and assisting in managing the preschool program as assigned by the Director. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Code, 3270.5 and Pennsylvania Department of Education Code for Nursery Schools/Kindergartens, a Preschool Teacher/Group Supervisor shall have attained one of the following qualification levels with two years’ experience.


• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or the Human Services field.
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University, including 30 hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or the Human Services field.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
All CCLC staff involved in teaching/child care are required to attend special training sessions with documentation due to state regulations.
• Responsible for obtaining at least 24 annual clock hours of professional development training each year. Acceptable topics include:
a. Information pertaining to child or staff health.
b. Child development, early childhood, or special education.
c. Supervision, discipline, and guidance of children.
d. Children’s nutrition.
e. Early Childhood Development.
f. PA Early Learning Standards.
• Participation in 2 professional growth and development activities per year, i.e., membership in a professional organization, such as PAEYC.
• Participate in Mandated Reporter Training and maintain updated certification
• Maintain certification in pediatric CPR and first aid.
• Required to participate annually in fire safety training conducted by a fire protection professional.
• Updated Title 33 and Title 34 Clearances.
• Health physical and Tuberculosis/Mantoux as required by DHS regulations.
• Two personal references must be on file.
