Position Summary:
Counseling Center. The Case Manager maintains up-to-date knowledge on resources available in the community and liaises with community mental health and social services and provides direct clinical services to students, outreach programming and professional training to the Georgia Southern community on a variety of mental health issues, clinical training to practicum students and interns, and consultations to faculty and staff regarding student mental health.

Essential Functions

  • Provides case management/bridge care for clients being referred to community resources.
  • Coordinates with inpatient mental health facilities on discharge planning for patients who are Georgia Southern students.
  • Compiles and drafts responses to all requests for Counseling Center client records/ verification of treatment, to be signed by Executive Director or Director on Armstrong Campus.
  • Provides individual, couples, and group therapy to students.
  • Provides crisis/triage assessment and response to students as needed.
  • Provides outreach programming and consultations to campus community.
  • Maintains all relevant ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice for Professional Counselors or Social Workers (as relevant to credentials) in the State of Georgia.

    Minimum Education Required:
    Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Work; licensed as an LPC or LCSW in the State of Georgia, or ability to obtain relevant Associate License (LAPC/ LMSW) within three (3) months of start date and full license within three (3) years of start date

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment

    Preferred Education:


    Preferred Experience::
    Experience managing a caseload of individual, couples, and group therapy clients; experience documenting clinical interactions via Electronic Medical Record system; comprehensive knowledge of clinical theories, diagnoses, interventions, treatment planning and therapeutic outcomes

    Salary Range: $40,200 - $50,300
