RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will:

  • Provide primary leadership in performing needs assessment, developing strategic objectives, organizational wide policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative direction and supervision to employees including: assigning projects and objectives; conducting performance evaluations; developing, motivating, and training; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations. Plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate the work activities and professional development of departmental staff, encompassing Service and Support, Online Learning, Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for security, quality assurance, disaster recovery and business continuity with solutions leading to managing risk and addressing issues quickly when problems occur. Oversee the creation, maintenance and monitoring of District-wide Information Services security standards to insure privacy of data, security of information technology processing facilities, activities and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the establishment of District standards for the acquisition, use and sharing of computer and server oriented databases, application development tools, network infrastructure and related systems to assure cross-system compatibility throughout the District.
  • Direct the development, integration and implementation of comprehensive support Information Services infrastructure, to include voice and data communications, data sharing systems, Web based systems, e-mail and District-wide Internet access; developing and approving District Information Technology budgets and expenditures and projection. Responsible for the investigation of solution systems, and programs for College problems and opportunities to include recommendations on alternatives, acquisitions, and financial impact.

  • Engage in a program of professional improvement in order to remain current in area of responsibility.
  • Direct the coordination and management of District-wide licensing and activities for competitive local exchange carriers, cable companies and other telecommunications utilities; oversee the inventory and maintenance of comprehensive records of District-wide technology assets, in concert with affected Departments.
  • Schedule Coordination and Enterprise application. Directing the development of tiered structure for room to grow that includes the direct reports and their team members.
  • Oversee the development and administration of District-wide information technology acquisition procedures, to include coordination of the purchase, lease or contracted provision of equipment, software, goods and services, in concert with the District Purchasing offices and affected Departments.
  • May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.



EDUCATION:     Bachelor’s Degree      


EXPERIENCE:  Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory role related to the essential functions in the area of Information Technology.

SALARY:                                           Entry salary is $88,805.00

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
