The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at The College of New Jersey invites outstanding applicants for a full-time tenure track assistant professor position in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Description of Position

The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor position. The teaching load is 3/3, with the possibility of a one-course release after the first year for research through a competitive proposal process. The successful candidate will teach core courses in the WGSS major and/or in the Sexuality and Queer Studies minor, including Introduction to WGSS, Feminist Theories, and qualitative or mixed-methods research, as well as in their area of specialization. The candidate's research and teaching should support the department's emphasis on intersectionality and anti-racism; contribute to enhancing the multiracial, multiethnic, multiregional, and multigender scope of the curriculum; and enhance existing and emerging curricular partnerships with other disciplines, including Education, Public Health, STEM/STEAM, Disability Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Environmental Studies, and International Studies. Specific areas of interest include Latinx/Afro-Latinx Feminisms; Asian and Asian-American feminisms; Lesbian/Queer Women's Studies; Trans Studies; and Critical Masculinity Studies. Experience in community-based or action research and in organizing or training for social justice activism is a plus.

The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department at TCNJ is an inclusive and dynamic learning community dedicated to preparing students for a lifetime of critically engaged learning and citizenship. • PhD in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, or Feminist Studies, or Queer Studies
• Teaching experience in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
