Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Art History

Job description

Beloit College seeks a visiting assistant professor or instructor of art history to teach two introductory courses in modern and contemporary art, one in fall 2019 and one in spring 2020, and one additional topics course in spring 2020. The successful applicant will introduce students to modern and contemporary art broadly construed so as to include a global and transnational understanding of visual culture. The Department of Art and Art History faculty include one art historian and three studio artists. We welcome applicants with an interest in new media who can offer interdisciplinary perspectives and approaches to the study of modern and contemporary art.

Requirements: Ph.D. or ABD and a strong commitment to successful undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context.
