DESCRIPTION: The School of Business at the University of Redlands (UoR) welcomes applications for a visiting faculty position in Management/Organizational Behavior, with additional strengths in Leadership. Qualified applicants should have teaching interests in purposeful leadership, strategic leadership and organizational change. Applications from individuals whose teaching and research interests are in leadership, a blend of micro and macro levels of organizational behavior or business as an agent for social good would be considered a plus as they align best with the strategic initiatives of our school. Practitioner experience in business-related activities is especially advantageous.

The School expects excellence in teaching, experience or interest in cross-functional teaching and research; desire to work with other faculty and with practitioners to create and implement innovative curricula teaching, and online learning; and effective interaction with members of diverse cultures. All applicants should have or show promise of achievement in their functional area, a keen interest in teaching adult learners, and an appreciation of business education within the context of a liberal arts and professional university. Candidates who apply are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in the area of inclusivity and specifically in assisting diverse student populations and, students from underrepresented groups to accomplish curricular goals.

The University of Redlands (www.redlands.edu) is recognized as a premiere regional liberal arts and professional educational institution, situated on a picturesque campus in the city of Redlands, within one hour of Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree and Lake Arrowhead. The School of Business (www.redlands.edu/sb) offers innovative undergraduate and graduate degree programs to over 1,000 students and has eight campus locations throughout California. The position is for one year through June 30, 2020 and may be renewable.

Applicants will be expected to teach 24 credit hours a year that may include graduate and undergraduate courses in leadership and management. The School’s Purposeful Leadership Initiative (PLI) (https://www.redlands.edu/pli) housed within the School’s Banta Center for Ethics and Purposeful Leadership, is an integrated education, research, and outreach enterprise that aims to positively affect leadership styles, skills, and approaches undertaken by students and professionals, and to recognize and celebrate leaders in the community who practice purposeful leadership. Applicants are expected to be involved in promotion of PLI, and engage in other faculty service to the school in addition to having opportunities to engage in scholarly activities.

POSITION CRITERIA: Interested applicants should have a completed or near completed doctorate (ABD) in Leadership or a closely related discipline in Management, or Organizational Behavior. A clear evidence of teaching achievement and/or potential, and demonstrable business knowledge at the MBA level or higher as well as experience in online instruction is highly desirable. Hires beyond the Visiting Assistant Professor level must be justified through significant and sustained teaching, active scholarship and commitment to School’s initiatives. The School of Business operates without discipline-based departments. The selected candidate must be able to competently interact with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty.
