Job Description


The Department of Science and Mathematics, in the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks applications from qualified candidates for a part-time non-tenure track position in biology, specializing in lower-division course work for biology majors and non-majors (e.g. general biology, general zoology, microbiology and genetics). The College seeks excellence in instruction. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Teach lower-division lecture courses for science majors 
  • Teach lower-division lecture courses for non-science majors 
  • Teach lower-division laboratory courses for science majors
  • Create and maintain a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications:  

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in BIOL or a related field (ABDs will be considered for this position). 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous college-level or AP Biology teaching experience.
  • Experience with a diverse student body.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse set of students and faculty.
