Schedule Information

This position typically consists of weekday (day and evening) shifts. Occasional weekend shifts may be required. This position is a semester appointment and can be renewed each semester with satisfactory performance reviews and hours availability. Based on staffing needs, summer hours may not be available.

Hours per Week

18-22 hours per week; 42 weeks per year.



Duties of Position

Providing reference services

Teaching library instruction classes

Providing makerspace services

Assisting with library programming and outreach services

Perform other duties, as assigned

Educational Requirements

An American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master's degree in Library Science is required.

Experience Requirements

One year experience with reference and instruction in an academic or public library environment is required. Makerspace and library technical service experience is preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; familiarity with ACRL Information Literacy Standards, ability to work collaboratively as well as independently in serving a very diverse campus environment, and proven ability to plan and deliver library programs.
