Schedule Information

Must have availability to work some weekday (9 am-1 pm) and evening (4 pm-9 pm) shifts, Monday-Thursday. This position is a semester appointment and can be renewed each semester with satisfactory performance reviews and hours availability.

Hours per Week

19 hours per week; 42 weeks per year.

Manage, maintain, and develop the LCC Reading Room library collections

Provide reference, information literacy, and computer literacy sessions

Prepare research guides in collaboration with Instruction Coordinator

Plan, promote, and deliver library programs and events in collaboration with User Services Librarian

Actively promote LCC Reading Room resources and services

Manage the circulation, reserve, paperback exchange, and interlibrary loan activities

Maintain effective communication with LCC and main campus personnel

Collect and maintain statistics.

Prepare reports as neededMay work one shift per week at main campus

Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

An American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master's degree in Library Science is required.

Experience Requirements

One year experience with reference and instruction in an academic or public library environment is required. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; familiarity with ACRL Information Literacy Standards, ability to work collaboratively as well as independently in serving a very diverse campus environment, and proven ability to plan and deliver library programs. Ability to speak Spanish highly desirable.
