Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters in Public Administration or Business Administration. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and UGA Budget Management highly preferred.

Position Summary

This position assists both the Senior Associate VP for Finance & Administration and the Senior Director of the Budget Division in a wide variety of tasks including analytical studies used in formulating budget projections, monitoring of revenue and expenditures within the budgetary units, coordination and preparation of the original budget during budget development exercises, and the research, analysis, and preparation of a variety of reports. In addition, the position serves as the primary contact for the UGA Budget Management System within the University Budget Office.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Previous experience in the development of operating budgets, budget monitoring, analysis and financial planning. Demonstrate strong analytical skills, good communication skills, and be detail-oriented with strong time management skills. Considerable Excel experience. Considerable knowledge of PeopleSoft and UGA Budget Management Systems. Thorough knowledge of UGA policies and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Associate VP for Finance & Administration and the Senior Director of the Budget Division with analytical studies used in formulating budget projections for the UGA budget; assist both positions in the monitoring of revenue and expenditures in the budgetary units, with emphasis on the University of Georgia B Units, to ensure that UGA remains within budget projections.

Assist the Senior Director of the Budget Division in the research, analysis, and preparation of a variety of reports including, but not limited to, the Annual Expenditure Report, Annual Management Report, Planning Information for budget conferences and the Prioritized Program Budget for B Units.

Duties/Responsibilities

Assist in the coordination and preparation of the UGA original budget during budget development. This involves extensive interaction with Resident Instruction budgetary units, B Units, and Public Service Institutes, as well as the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.
