Position Summary

Professional fundraiser reporting to the Director of Development, Annual Giving, in the Office for University Development and Alumni Relations. He/she will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of annual fund prospects. Position typically solicits up to $500,000 annually; facilitates up to 100 meetings per year with alumni, friends, and Profiles of NYU. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer may also identify and cultivate 10 major gift prospects on an annual basis. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will also work closely with other departments within the Development and Alumni Relations Office including School based Major Gift fundraisers, Alumni Relations, ITS, Research, and other development offices throughout the University to raise the school's local, regional, state, national and international support. The incumbent will also lead special projects at the request and discretion of the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Travel, both local and national, may be required.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ yearsPreferred Experience:3+ years 3 years fundraising experience in a research university environment closing gifts at a leadership annual fund level $1k-$50K preferred.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills. Ability to plan and implement events and develop marketing strategies. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must be comfortable creating team-supportive structures such as prospect list and portfolio management, data accuracy, and serve as second resource of support and guidance to LAGO fundraisers.
