Required Qualifications

 Complete the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at
 Have a complete financial aid file (submit all required documents for processing financial aid).
 Must be enrolled at NLU at least half-time for classes needed toward your degree.
 Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.


This candidate for the Student Finance Peer Advisor, FWS must possess the required abilities: Provide excellent customer service skills while working with students, staff and faculty; professional and pleasant demeanor; have strong existing computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); excellent organizational skills; clerical skills; communicate effectively with students and staff; great attention to detail and accuracy; be friendly; excellent phone and email etiquette; must be able to maintain confidentiality; must be dependable, reliable and eager to learn.

The Student Finance Peer Advisor, FWS will provide administrative support to the Office of Student Finance, the essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 Answer multi-line phones
 Answer questions regarding Student Finance services
 Assist with clerical projects
 Assist with data collections and data entry
 Become familiar with the University’s services offered to students
 Create a friendly and welcoming environment
 Direct visitors to appropriate departments for further assistance/service
 File
 Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity
 Print and process documents
 Provide front desk assistance when needed
 Provide office support
 Provide administrative and clerical support
 Respond to student inquires via email or phone
