Head Men's Soccer Coach
Wells College seeks applicants for the full-time 10 month position of Head Coach for Men’s Soccer. As a Head Coach, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Men’s Soccer programs, including, but not limited to: teaching and refining skills and techniques, preparation of daily practices and season plans, scheduling games and planning travel, motivating and monitoring teams’ academic success, and ordering supplies and uniforms. A primary function of the position will be the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes. Secondary responsibilities, based on experience, may include but are not limited to: game management for Spring and/or Winter sports; strength and conditioning; equipment room management; recreational sports programming; facility management; scheduling; Sports Information support, and/or teaching Physical Education activities classes. The successful candidate will actively ensure compliance with all NCAA, Wells College, and NEAC rules and regulations. Regular 10 month schedule: Aug 1 – May 31.
A commitment to the Mission of the College, the athletic program, the development of character in student-athletes and the academic program is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, will be highly motivated and organized, possess knowledge and understanding of the NCAA Division III rules and regulations.A Bachelors Degree is required. Masters Degree preferred. College playing and/or coaching experience preferred. National Certification in Strength and Conditioning and knowledge of recruiting software programs (e.g., Front Rush) and valid drivers’ license with no moving violations also preferred.
