Flagler College is an independent college located in St. Augustine with an offsite campus located in Tallahassee which has an enrollment of 350-400 third and fourth year non-traditional students.

The faculty member is expected to provide an effective teaching environment that is conducive to student learning. The classroom and coursework of the instructor should enhance student learning, employ effective delivery of instructional materials, and be responsive to student needs. The teaching load is four to five classes per semester, including Accounting Information for Decision Makers, Accounting Theory and Practice, Intermediate Accounting I, II, and III, Advanced Accounting, Cost Accounting, Federal Income Tax Accounting, Auditing, and other specialized courses. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, committee service, acting as the lead faculty member for assigned courses and working with adjunct faculty, and coordinating assessment activities for assigned courses. Interest in technology-based course delivery is also desired. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.

Qualifications A Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in accounting from an accredited institution (a Ph.D. or DBA with a concentration in accounting is preferred) and a record of effective teaching at the college level are required. Industry experience is preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates with graduate hours and teaching ability in finance.
