•Provides high-level administrative support to the Provost
•Works as a member of a team with the Provost and senior academic administrators (Vice Provosts, Deans, etc.) to determine goals and outcomes on a variety of issues to develop implement procedures and/or policies
•Identifies and prioritizes workflow; review work for accuracy and ensure adherence to deadlines
•Drafts routine and confidential correspondence
•Interacts and communicates with all levels of University personnel and external contacts
•Coordinates travel for Provost and senior staff in the Office of the Provost
•Researches and provides the Provost with comprehensive background information on a variety of issues requiring responses, including sensitive/confidential inquiries
•Manages staff responsible for the Provost’s calendar
•Oversees and manages reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes
•Managing Provost’s participation in University Senate and governance matters
•Ensures arrangements are made for meetings and develops agendas
•Selects and supervises the compilation of materials for meetings, appointments, and special events
•Coordinates the planning and execution of ceremonial occasions and events sponsored by the Provost
•Supports the development and execution of special projects


Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required. Successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have at least five years of progressive experience providing administrative support, including a minimum of two years with an academic department, in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment. The successful candidate must allso possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as superb problem-solving skills, exercising independent judgment and discretion to handle a diverse and challenging workload. In addition, the candidate needs to be capable of handling sensitive and confidential issues in a professional manner. Demonstrate outstanding computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.
