TheOffice of Information Technology has an opening for the position ofInstructional Media Specialist , above grade 12. I. Basic Functions:Works closely with the Instructional Designers to plan, produce, edit and publish video and interactive lecture assets for blended and online courses while maintaining a cohesive creative direction and quality standards for all online materials and other online education products. The Instructional Media Specialist assists with additional video related work and responsibilities as needed and lends expertise to video production and editing where needed or necessary. The successful candidate will need to provide graphic design and animation for all course media productions. II. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Media/Digital Production, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Media Arts or related field. Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • At least three years of experience working in E-learning media production.
  • Must demonstrate basic competency level and aptitude pertaining to each essential function outlined.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design with an emphasis on web output.
  • Knowledge of recording production including pre-production planning, post-production editing, studio environments and remote location work.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach software and skills related to media production to student workers and other individuals with non-technical, non-production backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the following tools is a must: Professional video cameras, studio lighting, audio mixers, microphones, DVD Burners and Duplicators, Flatbed Scanners, Document Cameras, PTZ Cameras/Controllers and others.
  • Knowledge of the following software and applications is a must: Adobe Connect, Adobe Suite (including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, After Effects), Final Cut Pro, Articulate Storyline or other interactive lecture creation software, 3D Studio Max, Moodle and others.
  • Working technical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to production-level media production programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively remain current on the development and applications of state of the art production technology.
  • Proven ability to thrive and respond to frequent demands of multiple constituents, both internal and external, in a user-centric manner and high-demand environment.
  • User-focused: sees problems from the customer’s perspective.
  • High emphasis placed on professionalism, efficiency and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written knowledge of English as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Well-organized, dedicated, accurate, thorough, and punctual, with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Self-directed worker and creative problem solver. A high level of self-motivation, adaptability and integrity. Must have a high energy level.
