Position Summary: This position provides first contact Print and Copy Services support to faculty, staff, students and members of the public. This position has three major areas of responsibility: 1) provide excellent customer service and technical support to a wide range of clients, including user support for multifunction copy and print equipment around campus, assistance with graphic design and file manipulation, branding and other university standards, media selection, and pricing and billing; 2) produce a variety of digital production and wide format prints, including finishing work, and 3D prints, utilizing the job tracking and payments systems used by Print and Copy Services; 3) provide backup support to manager for administrative tasks such as the oversight of job completion, quality control, and leading student staff.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

    Manage order workflow and fulfillment in the context of an online ordering site, overseeing job distribution among student workers as needed, and ensuring deadline requirements are met.Provide customer support in person, on phones, and via email, assisting users in file manipulation, layout, design software, media selection, pricing, and other inquiries.Provide explanation and advisement to customers to maintain adherence to brand and other university standards.Produce high quality b/w and color prints on a variety of production-grade digital printing equipment.Maintain quality control of prints, including color correction, brand management, and proof-reading.Manipulate files and images for printing, using a variety of graphic design and professional RIP software.Operate and maintain bindery equipment: folder, laminator, cutter, booklet maker, drill press, shrink wrapper, score/perforator.Create and verify order billing; collect and deposit money and make change accurately.Deliver paper and completed jobs to campus offices.Monitor inventory and supply.Provide in-person technical support and initial troubleshooting for departmental multifunction devices, including researching, testing and communicating potential solutions to the client, or escalating to repair technicians as appropriate.
  • Utilize campus inventory and ticketing system (KACE) to monitor trouble calls, requests and user multifunction equipment needs.
  • Assist in maintaining the currency of the department website via CMS.Collaborate in a flexible and open manner with other staff and campus users, with frequent team collaboration and support, excellent communication and responsiveness. Provide input and feedback to improve service and support team’s ongoing progress; independently learn new technologies and emerging needs.Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community. Additional duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


    Demonstrated experience with a range of common hardware and software, including:
      Macintosh and Windows computers and operating systems;Application software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic design and image manipulation software
    Excellent customer service orientation and ability to work as a flexible, collaborative, and supportive team member, while excelling in a fast-paced service environment.Familiarity with the use of large-scale multifunction print/copier devices.Demonstrated logistical and multi-tasking abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to individuals with varying levels of technology expertise, and the ability to write in a professional business style, as necessary. Demonstrated detail orientation with spoken and written communication products. Intellectual flexibility, technical curiosity and a sense of humor, including ability to learn independently. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds from floor to waist, negotiate stairs with a hand truck, and tolerate long periods of standing. Basic mechanical ability preferred.Ability to work flexible schedule when required to meet production deadlines.Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.
Compensation and Benefits: Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
