Candidates will be responsible for performing technical and administrative accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and system of the university.

Candidates will be responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and/or other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness to reporting and procedural standards. Candidates will also be responsible for processing all travel, check requests, journal entries and purchase orders for all contracts and grants.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to communicate clearly and interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Must have the ability to follow directions, to work independently with some oversight, and to meet requested deadlines. Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor are essential. A strong attention-to-detail is required to process financial transactions accurately. Must possess the ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential matters. The successful applicant will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and will possess general proficiency with computers and technology. Experience with UNC financial systems and/or PeopleSoft would be helpful. Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration or a closely related field and the minimum of 2 years of accounting experience or the combination of training, education and experience.
