 ThePhysical Therapy Program has an opening for a full-time, University Staff(unclassified) RESTORE Program Coordinator (Program Assistant II) position.

Nature of Work:

AProgram Assistant II This class describes the second level of technical supportand/or office manager duties. Positions at this level are expected to exercisea higher degree of decision making and independence by functioning with lessdirection. Positions have the authority to make decisions within the limits andobjectives set by an administrator and the technical guidelines of a program orprofessional subject area without prior approval. This class identifiespositions responsible for organizing and establishing work processes to deliverprogram services prescribed by management.

 ThePhysical Therapy Program currently has an opening for a full-time or part-timeProgram Assistant II, Research Program Coordinator to support the RESTORE teamfocused on rehabilitation clinical trials to improve rehabilitation outcomesfor older adult populations, including people with chronic disability, complexmedical conditions, and/or total joint replacement. 

 The Research Program Coordinator will serve as theprimary point of contact for Dr. Stevens-Lapsley and serve as a liaison betweenRESTORE team, staff/students, and faculty. The position will research,prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns regarding grantapplications, submissions, and referrals and other research-related submissionsand publications addressed to Dr. Stevens-Lapsley and will determineappropriate course of action, referral, or response.

 Examples of Work Performed:
  • Performday-to-day duties to facilitate smooth operation of RESTORE activities, workingclosely and effectively with Dr. Stevens-Lapsley to keep her well informed ofupcoming research commitments and responsibilities, and following upappropriately
  • Overseethe maintenance of study-related records for numerous investigations includingconsent forms, source document worksheets within the overall data managementsystem; perform advanced project work; follow through on projects to successfulcompletion
  • Developappropriate processes of maintaining and updating study records and files asneeded to comply with the research protocol
  • Independentlyrespond to inquiries from study participants, staff, regulatory agencies anddivisions. Inquiries can range from basic questions regarding a study tocomplex requests which will require research and analysis of a situation beforea resolution is reached.
  • Independentlydraft correspondence and communications for study participants, staff,regulatory agencies and divisions including memos, emails and reports asrequested by the study investigator.
  • Secure,assemble, and summarize information from files, documents in the office, orother available sources for use by the staff; organize the information, developreports, and highlight the most important portions for the staff
  • Inputdata into a number of electronic databases which might include: MicrosoftOutlook, Excel, WORD, PowerPoint, Access, REDCap and other databases.
  • Prioritizeconflicting needs and handle matters expeditiously and proactively with theflexibility to accommodate to the timing of various deadlines and urgent needs
  • Arrangeand coordinate research meetings, conferences and appointments; assist withscheduling meetings, including arranging for space, notifying participants,preparing agendas and minutes and following up on all commitments to ensurethat necessary arrangements have been made
  • Coordinatewith administrative staff to arrange travel plans, itineraries, and agendas.
  • Preparedocuments for the study investigator including those of a confidential and/ortechnical nature
  • Performother duties as required.

     Salary and Benefits:The hiring salary forthis position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. Thisposition is not eligible for overtime compensation.

    QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Five (5)years of experience with project management.
  • Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for therequired experience on a year-for-year basis.

     PreferredQualifications:

  • BA, BSdegree or higher earned degree from an accredited institution.
  • Previousexperience with research compliance (human subjects research preferred).
  • Experiencewith database management applications (e.g. REDcap).
  • Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellentorganizational skills.
  • Excellentwritten and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office software.
  • Abilityto work independently and make reasoned decisions.
  • Must beteam-oriented, flexible and self-motivated.
