Miami Athletics is seeking a dynamic, energetic and creative visual storyteller to help create content and direct video content production for one of the most iconic brands in collegiate athletics, with a primary emphasis on the Hurricanes football program. This position will be one of the department’s chief videographers – engaging, exciting and inspiring our fan base to consume and share compelling content on various platforms. The Senior Athletics Video Producer will also oversee four video producers, assisting them in concepting, shooting and editing videos that promote all UM teams and align with the department’s overall creative vision and brand strategy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate original creative that tells a story, highlights the Miami student-athlete experience, and engages all of the department’s target audiences.
  • Create content for multiple platforms, from short-form daily social media content to long-form feature content for website and broadcast projects.
  • Mentor team of video producers in best practices and brand standards, delivering constructive feedback when called upon.
  • Oversee the planning and workflow for video projects from start to finish, including storyboarding, scheduling, location scouting, audio and post-production editing.
  • Work with the creative team to incorporate video in the department’s overall short and long-term creative strategy for ideation, execution and distribution.
  • Collaborate with other departments within UM Athletics, as well as any assigned external stakeholders, to help them leverage video content to achieve their goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental rules.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD, Video & Game Production.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet assigned deadlines
  • Exceptional communications skills
  • Expert understanding of Adobe Premiere
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and travel with certain teams

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Five to seven years of shooting and editing experience with a sports and entertainment entity, agency or consumer brand.
  • Online portfolio/reel that demonstrates expertise in storytelling, shooting and editing.
