The campus of Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine - Southern Utah (RVUCOM-SU) is located in Ivins, UT, 20 minutes from St. George, UT. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Manage clinical externships for third and/or fourth year medical students in Utah.



Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Assist in creating and developing clinical externships in Utah. Maintain accurate clinical information database for clinical externship sites, adjunct clinical faculty, and student assignments in designated areas. Schedule clinical externships for third and/or fourth year students in the Utah regions. Communicate with preceptors and students in the coordination of clinical externships. Efficiently resolve schedule conflicts as they arise. Communicate and direct appropriate student concerns to the Manager or Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Education. Ensure all required student documents are completed timely. Manage the evaluation process of students, clinical faculty and clinical sites. Maintain an ongoing database of all above evaluations. Review and verify preceptor payments. Provide any assistance and support to the Regional Directors and the Office of Clinical Education. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant or Associate Dean or his/her designees.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as required. Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university as required.
Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Professional communication skills (email, telephone, etc). Demonstrate data skills with Windows Microsoft, Excel, Adobe and Outlook. Outstanding organizational skills. Ability to work with confidential material with attention to detail. Ability to solve problems efficiently. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-years equivalent work in scheduling or database management.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post graduate degree
  • Work experience in a Medical School or Residency Program.
  • Work experience in scheduling in a healthcare-related facility.
  • Final applicant will be required to pass background check and drug screening.
