The Center for Research on Learning and Teaching at the University of Michigan seeks to welcome a senior staff member to join CRLT’s Senior Leadership Team and to lead the Foundational Course Initiative (FCI). FCI facilitates the redesign of large courses that serve as introductions to a major or a discipline. The initiative aims to create a 21st-century model for education at scale that promotes equity and the success of the broad diversity of students who take these courses. This is an excellent opportunity to join the nation’s first teaching center and to lead a team of motivated professionals in a high-impact university-wide initiative funded by the President’s Office. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and have extensive experience in educational development and course redesign efforts in a major research university setting, as well as supervisory experience. Candidates from groups historically underrepresented in faculty development are strongly encouraged to apply.
