School of Engineering: To respond to the chronic shortage of local engineers in Guam and the other islands in the Western Pacific, the School of Engineering was established at University of Guam and recognized by the UOG’s Board of Regents in September 2016. The new School of Engineering offers a four year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. The program will be accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET). The program will have faculty with expertise in the basic civil engineering and environmental fields. A new building will house the new program. There will be adequate space for classrooms, laboratories, and office space for students and faculty.
Character of Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate expertise and scholarly interests in areas related to hydrology and hydraulics and water resources topics and to develop and teach curricula in those and other related Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) areas. In addition, duties will include advising students and developing an externally funded research program in his or her area of specialization. Furthermore, an ability to contribute to other general learning outcomes including engineering laws, ethics, economics, and sustainability would be considered as an added asset.
Minimum: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus in Water Resources or related discipline from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent, evidence of scholarly achievement, and U.S. professional engineering registration or capability of obtaining the Guam registration within a reasonable period of time is required. Must be willing to teach online.
Preferred: Experience working with online learning programs.

Police and Court Clearance: Pursuant to Public Law No. 28-24 and Executive Order 2005-34, applicants selected for a position are required to provide original police and court (Superior Court of Guam) clearances of no more than three (3) months old prior to commencement of employment. Section 25103, Chapter 25, Title 10 of the Guam Code Annotated requires college or university employees to undergo a physical examination, to include a test for tuberculosis (skin or x-ray), prior to employment and at least annually thereafter. A report of such examination must be conducted by a licensed physician within a state or territory of the United States and must be submitted upon request.
Federal law requires presentation of eligibility to work in the United States within seventy-two (72) hours of reporting for employment.
