General Summary The mission of Campus Recreation is to enhance the quality of life of our unique members by educating and encouraging active participation in recreational opportunities that develop leadership skills, foster social interaction, and reinforce healthy behaviors. The Assistant Director, Competitive Sports will be responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of all Intramural and Sport Club programs and services provided through the Department of Campus Recreation.
Additional Information:
Required Qualifications 1. Master's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sport Management or related field.

2. Three or more years of professional experience in competitive sports (intramural sports/sport clubs) or in a related field.

3. Demonstrated experience with training and supervision of student employees and/or volunteers.

4. Demonstrated organizational skills in league management and tournament organization.

5. Demonstrated experience with sport liability and risk management.

6. Familiarity with inspecting facilities for risk management and maintenance concerns.

7. Demonstrated experience with maintaining equipment inventory and familiarity with a broad range of facility and sports equipment.

8. Demonstrated skills in budget management and procurement.

9. Demonstrated ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing.

10. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
Desired Qualifications: 1. Certification as a high school official in any sport.
2. Three or more years of professional experience in the collegiate environment.
3. Demonstrated experience with training and/or evaluating student or volunteer officials.
4. Demonstrated experience with development activities with alumni and other key stakeholder groups.
5. Demonstrated experience advising sport club student leaders and/or advising a sport club leadership council.
6. Possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/BBP and First Aid basic certification.
7. Possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/BBP/First Aid instructor certification.
8. Familiarity and/or comfort with Fusion (or equivalent member management software) and IM Leagues (or equivalent web-based league management program).
9. Valid Driver's License and/or ability to obtain valid Driver's License.
Necessary Licenses/Certifications/Degrees 1. Master's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sport Management or related field.
2. Possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/BBP and First Aid basic certification. Certification is required within six months of employment.
3. Possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/BBP/First Aid instructor certification. Certification is required within the first year of employment.
Hiring Rate/Range Commensurate with experience

Work Hours Core working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, may vary based on program hours
