Compensation: Hourly Rate of $8.50 as per the Santa Fe College Salary Schedule. Limited to no more than 25 hours per week.

Description:

Student Life is a comprehensive, multi-faceted, dynamic area comprised of Student Activities, Civic Engagement & Service, Student Government, International Student Support & Advising, Leadership Programs, Student Organizations, Student Health Care Center, Student Life Business Office, and Student Life Marketing. Student Life works closely with students, faculty and staff to create and support opportunities for involvement, leadership and service on the SF campus and within the surrounding community. The Student Life Front Desk is seeking student assistants to support the department mission and assist staff with the day to day operations of the front desk.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Greet and provide customer service to all students and visitors of Student Life.
  • Create ID cards for students and other various programs at SF.
  • Receive and process departmental paperwork.
  • Answer phones, transfer calls and take messages; send and receive faxes on behalf of students.
  • Monitor Recreation Room and Computer Lab access; check-in/out Recreation Room equipment.
  • Deliver items on campus as needed.
  • Provide coverage during weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist with projects as required (i.e. prepare marketing materials for distribution and/or removal; create spreadsheets, event set-up, etc.).
  • Assist other staff as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.

Reports to: Director, Student Life

Qualifications:

Required: To be eligible for employment consideration, the candidate must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic and behavioral standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours. Candidates must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 Santa Fe cumulative GPA. A criminal background check will be conducted.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs.
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
