Description:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of maternal-fetal medicine. Candidates should be proficient in obstetrical ultrasound.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, Ob/Gyn residents and MFM fellows and participation in formal curriculum.

Clinical responsibilities may include out-patient consultations for high risk obstetrical, maternal and fetal conditions; obstetrical ultrasound; antenatal testing; prenatal genetic diagnosis, as well as in-patient consultation and obstetrical care at Pennsylvania Hospital and the MFM satellite practices.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include mentoring resident and MFM fellow’s research projects and participation in clinical trials. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is one of the NICHD MFMU Network sites and home to one of five March of Dimes Prematurity Research Centers.

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified or active candidates for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty trained and board certified or active candidates for certification in maternal fetal medicine.

The division has a fellowship program and a Maternal and Child Health Research Program supporting basic, translational and clinical research.
